ICT is all around us. At Creswick pre-school we believe in exploring all parts of the curriculum and using equipment that will support our children to be ready to learn well at Nursery and Primary School.

We secured funding to provide the children with good quality IT equipment. They have access to:

• 2 Desktop computers
• Laptop
• Interactive whiteboard
• Colour printer
• Digital camera
• Supervised internet access
• Beebot remote control bugs
• Lightbox
• Audio Recording equipment
• Voice books

Children can explore the equipment through free flow play. They use it with their key workers to complete adult initiated tasks. Sometimes the whole group comes together to access activities on the Whiteboard encouraging them to take turns, sing and dance together. If children have English as an Additional Language or a Speech/Communication need, the IT equipment can be very useful to support and encourage their learning.

 Above all the children have great fun when using the equipment and becoming confident in using it stands them in good stead for their next stage of learning at Nursery or Reception class.

 We would like to stress however that we do monitor the children's use carefully and ensure that it does not dominate their play. Whilst children are free to play with whatever they choose, we do encourage them to try all our areas of learning.
